I wanted to thank all the musicians/artists/rappers/singers etc. for all the requests to listen to your music. If you don't hear back from me, please don't think its because I don't like your music. Its just that I get so many requests that there is no way I could actually listen to everything. I do try to listen when I can. If I don't listen to it right away that doesn't mean that I won't listen to it later and its OK to remind me every once-in-a-while.
OK, here's some advice for Hip-Hop artists who want to get their music played by club DJ's. You should have a 16 measure (bar) intro with a great beat and no lyrics for the song. Its also good to do the same thing at the end of the song. This makes a much better song to "Mix." If you got a bunch of singing or rapping at the beginning of the song, then it just doesn't work for mixing unless the song is started past that point.

For those of you who don't know much about me, I'll give you the basic stuff. I was born in the Bay Area, but spent most of my life in Phoenix/Tempe Arizona. I moved to Washington State about six years ago and like everything but the constant rain. I spent a few years in The U.S. Army and lived most of that time in Germany.
I've been DJ'n for about two years now, which isn't very long. I'm sure there are DJ's out there who are better than I am, who've never set foot in a DJ booth, but maybe they don't have the guts to do it live. I guess in that aspect I'm lucky. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for any other (well maybe an astronaut).
I listen to everything from Hip-Hop to Classic Rock and almost everything in between. I'd prefer to play only Hip Hop and R&B when I DJ because I love to mix. If I'm not mixing then I feel like I'm just a live Juke Box and thats not fun at all.
I play a little guitar & bass and have written and recorded a few songs that I suppose could be put in the Rock or Alternative category. I'm currently working on some Hip-Hop beats and music that I've put together recently and I'm currently working with Mak Bolan & Uncle Paul of Fultym Enterprises as their NW DJ.
