Sounds Like: REVIEW: THE MIGHTY SHRILL'S LAST SHOW IN FLORIDA

Hot damn! I sorta feel obligated to share the Rock n Roll Revival of last nights Shrill show w/ y'all. As many of you may or may not know, Shrill is the rockin' brainchild of Jeano 'Pappy' Roid. Fucking A. Its the end of an era around these parts. This week appears to quite possibly be the end (in Florida) of Jeano's long-running flat-out rawkin yet locally underappreciated TRUE rock band Shrill before things move up to Tennessee. Last night was one of those weird Shrill shows where the attendees actually GOT IT!!.

This post isnt meant to kiss ass to Jeano or Shrill regardless of how it comes off. I just realize that this list is comprised of true rock fans [whats left of us...] and since Shrill never toured properly in their [correct me if I'm wrong Pappy] 7-8 year tenure they absolutely delivered every time they were on a stage. I guess I saw them through all their member changes and low times and high times that an underdog 'local' band sees... honestly I've seen Jeanos band BLAZE in front of 3 people who just stood around like zombies AS WELL AS in front of hordes of people that dont know shit about dick when it comes to rock. But last night was great.

You motherfuckers really dont know how great a band Shrill is?... I fucking HATE South Florida and in a very direct way the fact that the incredibly catchy and [to use a Jeano term] **BOMBASTIC** riff-rock that Shrill possess never caught on properly in these parts is only proof and incentive that I'm leaving this place. The only rock scene this pathetic place ever saw was because Jeano & those other bastards in Shrill would stand & deliver to whoever/whenever they could. I would tell them all the time, if they were from any other town they would have got their just due. Last night they played w/ total abandon. I guess you could tell they knew the fuse is almost out? It was fucking incredible. The kids were into it. I was into it. People were screaming and TOTALLY appreciative.

They lit a piano on fire while delivering their high octane version of the Jerry Lee classic 'Great Balls of Fire'.. hell thats another thing. Whenever they did a cover they just maxed it out...you poor people really have no idea. Ok, this post is totally sounding like I'm kissing Jean's ass but lissen: I've known him for quite a few years and he taught me alot. He's 10 years my senior and I'm indebtited to his tubby old ass. Every time I ever saw Shrill I knew I got rawked. You just felt it.

Anyways, while this is sounding like a eulogy its not. All those guys in Shrill are gonna do well no matter what and ANYONE that gets lucky enough to create music w/ Jeano in Nashville is gonna know what the fuck I'm rambling on about. Jeano- I dont think you ever got your just due w/ Shrill. I know you love playing Shrill songs w/ those guys [and hated doing Lords of Volume songs w/ me. Ha.] but your gonna do great in Nashville, man.

Thanks for all those great shows. I wish you guys had done the touring angle of being in a band. I know that Florida folk on this list would have appreciated The Mighty Shrill had you rolled into their towns... Pay attention everyone, I got a feeling Jeanos gonna be on to something hot in Nashville. Final Florida Shrill gig is this Thursday. I'll be there. Everyone else: sorry your gonna miss it.-Royce
