THE GARDENIA CLUB

JUNE 24th- LONDONS HIPPEST JAZZ CLUB

About Me

ABOUT THE GARDENIA CLUB:The concept behind The Gardenia Club, was inspired by a picture, or series of photographs, taken by Herman Leonard, of Jazz artists taken in smokey clubs such as Blue Note, Birdland and Downbeat NYC. The Gardenia club is a group of London's hottest Jazz Cats coming together to play great music in a buzzing atmosphere, reminiscent of old times. An intimate room, crowded with both musicians and music lovers, relaxing with fine wine and timeless music, hosted by rising jazz singer Jo Harrop and her band. Look forward to hearing the beautiful works of Duke Ellington, Rogers and Hart, Jerome Kern, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone to name but a few. Also featured are some original compositions by the players themselves, and appearances from special guests each week. The Gardenia Club night is to be hosted upstairs at The Distillers Arms, Hammersmith, on the last Tuesday of each month, the first being on March 4th 2008. All are welcome. Please dress with hip style for the night DIRECTIONS: Hammersmith tube - underpass/cross to Hammersmith Apollo - take Fulham Palace Road - walk for 3 minutes - you're there!
