About Me

n 1994, two friends with a mutual love and respect for Hiphop decided to start a dynamic duo in the tradition of the greats: Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Eric B & Rakim, Cash Money and Marvelous, Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock, Captain and Tenille, and so on and yo. Thus Tirade and C-Doc became LOWdown, taking the idea that if the Hiphop classic LP The Low End Theory was a group instead of an album, then it would be them. They immediately embarked on tracks for their debut, groundZERO, a bass-heavy, boom-bap romp with dope lyrics and tight-ass beats. In 2004 they finished the record. Now, these two members of the World's First Virtual Rapp Squad (The Impossebulls) bring the LOWdown funk as a side project to their other Hiphop efforts. You can catch them performing LOWdown joints at Bulls shows and working on new music as they see fit. But it all comes back to 1994...the sound, the feeling, and the funk. LOWdown...

Band Members: TiradeBorn in Pittsburgh in 1974, Tirade is the groups' "consummate perfectionist." As well as being an Emcee, Tirade has also graced the small screen, via C-Doc's film productions. Tirade’s previous incarnations involve being a member of the groups LOWdown and EL CAMINO PIRANHA. The Impossebull shape shifter with more alter egos than Kool Keith, he is also the most likely candidate for the group’s sex symbol. One of founders of The Def Beat Coalition, Tirade has a laid back demeanour on the mic and in real life, but don’t mistake that for apathy. A cursory glance at his lyrics reveal the inner depths of the man. Most recent major projects: Slave Education, LOWdown's groundZERO ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------- C-Doc (The WarHammer)Born in 1974 in Youngstown, Ohio, C-Doc has the role of Emcee, Producer, and Video Director in The Bulls setup. He seems to thrive on the pressure of multiple projects and tasks; a pressure that has produced some real gems. Not only a solo artist but also forms one half of Illegal Thought Process with DJ President Ike. And if that's not enough, he also heads up The Def Beat Posse and is also an independent film producer. A brief career overview would look like this: in 1985 he began producing films and videos, in 1988 he began rhyming, and in 1993 he began beat-making.Most recent major projects: Slave Education, Public Enemy's New Whirl Odor, LOWdown's groundZERO ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------- DJ President IkeComing from New York Ike is a DJ in the style of a DMC contender with honed technical ability. He also comprises half of the Illegal Thought Process duo. Raised on Classical music and The Beatles, Ike’s path to being a Hip Hop DJ was off the beaten track – one that included learning how to play the violin. As well as being The Bulls' DeeJay, Ike is also Director of Education for the group – a role that stems from his career as a Social Studies teacher in the Bronx. Most recent major projects: Slave Education, The Indelible Beats Online Radio Show
Influences: Public Enemy, ATCQ, The Beatnuts, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Ultramagnetic, Big Daddy Kane, Bob Marley, Chicago, Steely Dan, J Dilla, MF DOOM, Mportd Flows, Wu Tang Clan, The Diabolical Biz Markie, De La Soul, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien ect ect. Basically any rappers that don't suck balls.
Sounds Like: You can't classify our overt dopeness with mere words. You must experience the dopeness with your own ears and souls. Ya heard? No? Well then we sound a little like Cannibal Ox, A Tribe Called Quest, Jeru The Damaja, MF Grimm, MF DOOM, KRS ONE, Kool Keith, Fatlip, Gangstarr, Little Brother, De La Soul, Del Tha Funke' Homosapien, Atmosphere, Common, Edan, Gift of Gab and Public Enemy boyee!!
