Music: hip-hop/rap, rock (classic, hard/heavy), dance-pop, funk, soul. Movies: Science fiction, action, horror, art-house, Blaxploitation. TV: Frasier/Cheers reruns, TV Land shows, Smallville, X-Files. Toons: Most classic toons, but my favorites have been the superhero shows, i.e., Justice League/Superfriends, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, etc. Sports: Football, Basketball. Hobbies: Writing, drawing, Internet Surfing. Other: Going to public parks, and going for walks/hikes.
Personally, anybody who likes to have fun, with an open mind, patience and tolerance are a must. Professionally, I'd like to meet all the music & movie heroes I grew up listening to and watching on the screen.
Here we go-- I'm primarily a hip-hop head, but I dip my feet into some other pools as well--I'd say my favorite hip-hop acts (past, present, defunct, and otherwise) are: KRS-One, Public Enemy, Jay Z, Nas, Run DMC, EPMD, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, DMX, Gang Starr, Ice Cube, Eminem, M.O.P., Rakim, Fat Boys, 2Pac, Biggie, Puff Daddy, Impossebulls/Lowdown, etc.) Rock: Jimi Hendrix, Living Colour, Prince, Michael Jackson, the Police, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, Duran Duran, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, etc. Soul/R&B/Funk: James Brown, Isley Bros., Sly & the Family Stone, Rick James, P-Funk, Cameo, Gap Band, Mary J. Blige, Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, etc.
Well, I'm mostly an action and sci-fi/fantasy type of guy, but I appreciate pretty much all genres-- even art-house stuff-- whenever I can get around to it..My favorite movie of all time? Jaws-- only the first one!I'm definitely into the superhero movies- Superman, Spider-Man, Hulk, Blade, Batman, all of them...best comedy film?- blues brothers (destroying a shopping mall never looked so fun...)best romantic comedy? either When Harry Met Sally or The Best Man..I'd have to put the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy up there as the best book adaptation flicks..Oh, can't forget the star wars trilogy-- I'd say EMPIRE was my favorite, followed by JEDI, and then A NEW HOPE..and you'll probably never find a bigger cultist of Urban Action Films of the 70's-- Shaft, Dolemite, Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby, Blacula, Uptown Saturday Night, all modern classics-- too bad so many of them are nearly impossible to find on video...
I can't front-- A heck of a lot of TV bores me nowadays. the sitcoms, the dramas, and the reality shows. I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm just getting older, but a lot of the interest I had in watching TV as a kid I just don't have now, even though there's X number of channels available if you have cable or satellite TV. More often than not, I end up watching reruns of something more than watching new episodes from week to week. And even those shows I do like I rarely end up seeing on a weekly basis-- more like every other week. I think what I'm going to end up doing is start buying these season sets on dvd and just catch up that way.Offhand, shows that are currently on the air that I like-- when I can catch them-- Smallville, Heroes, Law & Order SVU, etc.
