About Me
south african by birth, canadian by the cold...er of late. writer and painter and poet with art as a living testament to life. an artist who believes that art is nothing if not a lens to human evolution. the african sun has coloured and bleached the canvas of my life and influenced the artist and the art. the blood and soil and toil all find their places on the cotton and wood of my canvas and paper.

the description from my novel: BLACK DOG BLEEDINGThe story of one man’s journey to hell. Hell does have a name...Robben Island.
This story, though fictional, is based on, and honors, the life - and death - of Stephen Biko. Thirty years ago, an ordinary man, a solitary man, was dragged into a hellish world of sadistic, outrageous, relentless hate and racism.
It is 1977, Johannesburg, South Africa. Some cruelly, viciously and sadistically wielded power meant to scourge, some broke under its weight, while some remained unbent, immovable under it, resolute of spirit, and ultimately, tragically, indomitable.
This is the story of such a man...One man, but a man who overcame unbelievable atrocities to salvage a nation. Martyred but not forgotten... One man that ignited change, bringing freedom to all his countrymen. The story of Stephen Biko, though familiar to many, is a tragedy beyond what any man, any person should ever have to endure.
This story is embedded in the dark and bloody years of apartheid. It is the story of one individual, but speaks to the suffering of countless innocent souls. We may all be familiar with racism, but how many of us know, truly understand its horrors, its injustices, indignities and base brutality?
This is not a story for the feint of heart or stomach. It is a story, not meant to shock, but to shine the unapologetic, unflattering light of truth on a situation that was, and is very real. Told through one man’s journey, it will lay bare any and all realities of a world that for some was inescapable. The pain is real. The horrors are real. Ignoring them won’t change a thing. Understanding it just might...
