About Me

Gerald McCauley, Producer, is one of the many distinguished Locke High School musical alumni. Following the path of alumnus Gerald Albright, Patrice Rushen, Ndugu Chancelor, Sydney Muldrew and many others. Gerald began his production career in 1987 producing material for vocalist Chante Moore. In 1991 he worked with Capital Records Executive, Joy Bailey, on several remixes and development projects, which include Carmen Electra. He also worked with former Columbia Records VP Randy Jackson (Bassist/Music Producer/American Idol Judge) on projects for the label. In 1992 he wrote and co-produced material on the MC Skat Kat album released on Paula Abdul’s record label “Captive” distributed by Virgin Records. In 1994 he developed relationships with executives at MCA and A&M Records producing material for the male vocal trio “Frontpage” (MCA) and the female group “For Real” (A & M). He has continued to nurture previous business relationships while establishing new relationships with key music industry artists and executives. In 1996 Gerald formed his production company, 1236 Entertainment to develop independent, cutting edge projects. Gerald has dedicated his musical career to producing material that merges live instrumentation with modern production techniques, the cornerstone of all Progressive Music. Gerald currently works with many popular artists, songwriters, producers and arrangers in the music industry. Creator and Founder of The West Coast All-Stars, the band leader has one of the greatest live shows and touring ensembles. The CD/DVD release, Gerald McCauley’s West Coast All-Stars “Live Sessions” features: Frank McComb, Chris Botti, EnVogue, Phillip Ingram, Val Watson, Tom Scott, Jonathan Butler, Eric Marienthal. His debut CD release “The McCauley Sessions” chronicles his ‘90s production work and has become a favorite amongst music lovers worldwide. It features: Carl Anderson, Rob Mullins, Brenda Russell, Larry Springfield, Chante Moore, Bobby Lyle, Adwin Brown (Bluezeum), George Benson, Jeanette Jurado and more. He has independently produced projects: “LA Jazz Syndicate II” which features: Jerry Peters, Phil Collins, Carl Anderson, and Val Watson’s “Urbal” and “Live At The Funk Lounge” CDs which features George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Patrice Rushen, Gerald Albright, George Duke and others. His other work includes, Tom Scott’s “New Found Freedom” CD (Higher Octave Music) and Ann Nesby’s Grammy Nominited CD “Make Me Better”, Boney James “Pure” (Warner Bros.), Peter White “Confidential” (Columbia/Sony Music), Paul Brown “Up Front” and “The City” projects (GRP), Bobby Lyle “Straight And Smooth” (3 Keys Music). Blige. McCauley served as Talent Consultant for the Crustacean & Friends 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, Creative Consultant/Producer for the upcoming Crustacean Legends Series: Jimi Hendrix Tribute.
