About Me



1) A wizard who seeks to defy death, converting themselves into an undead state by means of black magic and necromancy, storing their souls in magical receptacles called phylacteries;
2) A dead body; A corpse;
Remnants of the Chicago-area black/death metal act Infecting the Soul (Kevin Meredith, Albert Weihofen, and Thomas Osborn) laid the foundation for Liche. With a stronger influence of Scandinavian black metal in their music, Liche set out to bring a familiar, modern, European black metal sound to the United States.
The search for a second guitarist ended with the addition of John Roberts in October 2005. Liche began immediately writing new material in preperation of their first demo release. In July 2006, Liche found a vocalist, Johnny Grill, to front the band.
The 2006 demo (out now), Beyond the Black Horizon, contains two full songs which will be handed out free to all. It features high quality versions of both tracks posted on this myspace page. Liche has played multiple shows, including one with Sweden's Dark Funeral, Enslaved, and Abigail Williams. Liche is passively playing shows, but only a limited number until the full length album is released. The Full Length album will be released in Spring of 2007!! This album will feature 10 extreme black metal tracks ranging from some incredibly heavy tracks to very melodic tracks... and of course everything in between. The album, Within the Valley of Megiddo, is looking to be a strong new beginning in U.S. Black Metal as it is already anticipated by many both nationally and internationally.
