Here's Aqua story:
Aqua history begins in 1989 when Søren Rasted and Claus Norreen start working together as producers for the soundtrack of the film "Frække Frida og de frygtløse spioner" (Naughty Frida and the Fearless spies). During the recordings of this project they met Dj and rapper René Dif and decided to work on a new musical project.
Lene was discovered by Renè who saw her singing in a Tv show a cover of the Randy Crawford song "Almaz".
The first single they made together was released in 1995 under the name of Joyspeed and the title of the track was 'Itsy bitsy spider'. The single was a flop so they decided to cancel their contract with the label and start all over again.
They started to produce new songs and in 1996 they signed a contract with the Danish division of Universal Music.
The first single under the name of Aqua, "Roses are red", was released in September 1996 and it immediately chart in Denmark.
International succes arrived with the single "Barbie girl" who managed to arrive at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. During 1997 also the first album "Aquarium" was released.
Aqua's second album, "Aquarius", was released in 2000, guided by the lead single "Cartoon heroes".
In 2001 they started working on their third album and during the summer of the same year they played four songs from it during "Grøn Koncert". The titles of these songs were: "Shakin' Stevens (is a superstar)", "Wow Wow Wow", "Couch potato" and "Hi fi". Unfortunately at the end of the tour they decided to take their own ways and so this album never saw the light.
On 2007-10-26 the group announced with a press conference their reunion, which will see a 25 concert tour for the summer of 2008 and a Greatest Hits compilation with some new songs for the same year.
