Deathtröya officially started in early 2003, under the name Conatus as an anarchopunk band project, with a first complete line up : Mika (vocals), Gilles (guitar), Toto (guitar), Floflo (bass) and Régis (drums). Soon after the first jams, Gilles broke his forearm, thus delaying the first real compositions. During that time, Floflo left the band and Toto took his place as bassist. Then, Mika, Toto and Régis decided to start a side project named Groundzero (anarcho-grind-crust).
In September 2003, the jam sessions restarted, with the composition of several primitive songs and a few shows throughout Moselle (France).
In February 2004, Toto left the band. The group continued as a trio, without a bass guitar player. A few weeks later, having found the new songs too metal, Mika also left the band. Replaced by Math on vocals, the band takes a new breath with the arrival of Geoffroy on bass guitar. The band changed its name to Star System Deathtröya, which became Deathtröya thereafter.
After a few weeks of jamming, the band created new songs, incorporating more blues and rock n’roll in their early old-school thrash-crust style. They then recorded their first EP named "Rött n’Röll" (2005). A few shows were booked in Metz, Toul and Lille in early January 2006.
In February 2006, the band did several gigs in Germany : Kopi-Berlin, Finnsterwalde and Chemnitz. The tour was done without a bassist.
Deathtröya has shared the stage with punk, crust, thrash, death, hardcore, metal and grindcore bands like Intestinal Disease, MxVxD, Dementum, Lardon, Total Konfus, The Nunchaks, Yayeth Corpse, Brainwashed, Nagsnail, Kotz Box, Enphase, Groundzero...
In September 2006, Geoffroy left the band. Deathtröya continued to jam as a trio for a few months, taking on a more thrash/sludge/stoner orientation, accentuating the Death n’Roll side of its music.
From May 2007 up to this time, the band is on standby.
March 2008, after the official departure of Math, songwritting should restarted soon, in order to release several songs for end 2008.
