Career Highlights:"Glad you like the pics. I was surprised how well my camera worked for me because some of the pictures I took of you guys live were some I have been trying to get with other bands for quite sometime. Timing I guess. I have to say you are very charismatic and it makes my job a lot easier!!! ~PaAmela (photographer)"

From The Phoenix"Going, going, Goners"
Roger, Tony, George, and Rob, those bad boys from the Coventry area, aka THE GONERS, are back with a new six-song EP, which happens to be their best work by miles. The songs are fully realized, the production is excellent, Roger and Rob’s guitar work has more oomph per chord, and the vocals are prominent. This last point is key when you have exquisite message songs like “Sex In the Morgue†and “Drink Dance Die†— people need to hear exactly what’s being said. The band will celebrate the release of the EP on Friday, November 3, at Cats. They’ll be playing with likeminded crazies ENGINE ROOM, Y69, BEER DOZER, and MILOS SYNDICATE. The show starts at 9 pm and it’s 21-plus. Call 401.722.0150."
motifmagazine.net:"Dance, Drink, Die…The Goners, enough saidWhen a CD crosses my desk containing cover art that depicts bare feet with a toe tag hanging from said foot, it can only mean one thing – punk rock baby! And punk it is, courtesy of some local bad boys, collectively known as The Goners. And, their new pièce de résistance is aptly entitled Drink, dance, die. As loyal readers of my column already know, when a band describes themselves in their promotional materials better than I can, a well-deserved tip o' the hat is extended on my behalf. So in that spirit I quote: “The Goners like to get drunk, smash it up, bleed out of our heads, jump off things, break multiple guitar strings, drink 'Gansett, eat pizza, scream, holler, puke, spit, throw microphones…" Yup, couldn't have said it better myself.Rather than blathering on with needless musical padding, The Goners dive right into the deep-end and set the proper tone with the disc's kickoff track “Sex in the Morgue.†With a vocal styling that sounds like Ray Davies and Johnny Rotten were symbiotically fused in some science experiment from Hell, the band bemoans, “Work at night, working' all alone at my job at the funeral home ... I wanna make love and do your autopsy.â€And the hits just keep on coming with the unfolding tracks, including my personal favorite of the collection “Head.â€Containing the romantically haunting refrain “Driving around with my girlfriend's head - Driving around with my girlfriend dead," The Goners cover the topic of decapitation, which in this writer's humble opinion is sorely lacking in much of today's Top 40 material. “Getting looks of terror from people down the beat, I buy her pretty hats cause I think she looks so sweet - When we're having dinner I put her on the plate, sit her on my lap when we're watching TV late.â€Granted, Burt Bacharach can sleep well tonight. But that's not to take anything away from what The Goners have to offer to a significant punk rock fanbase. With heavy doses of piss, vinegar, and absolute irreverence, The Goners are one of the area's more refreshing acts to immerse themselves so completely in this niche musical approach. And finally. despite the CDs title, always keep in mind the admonition printed at the bottom of the disc's back cover: "Remember to dance responsibly."
THE GONERS
Drink, Dance, Die
6-song CDNow, these boys are from Providence. And from what I’ve read Providence has one of the highest alcohol consumption rates per capita in America—and they have highest, in more ways than one, cocaine usage. So they’re fucked up even more so than their puritan/decadent neighbors in Boston. That’s a big plus right there. Depravity in any form is approved by me and my S.O. (in private at least), President-to-be Mitt.
These guys sound like old school garage punk with a touch of hardcore and horror rock tossed in—i.e. “Sex in the Morgue,†“Head,†not by Prince or my favorite pastime, but about driving around with your dead girlfriend’s head in your car—and it’s swell.
I bet these Goners are great live. I’d like to see them with another sick Providence band, The Sleazies, while enjoying a pomegranate martini or 12. “Drink, Dance, Die†is my pick for best song and a perfect recipe for life. (Slimedog)The Noise
