John later lived near Liverpool near George Harrison’s father. His first reaction to meeting George Harrison on a flight to London in 1999 was: “Man, do you look like your Dad!â€John’s musical career began as bass player with Zamcheck, who toured with Gary Burton & Pat Metheny, played the Newport Jazz Festival and were managed by the notorious Steve Sesnick (Velvet Underground). But the six-string acoustic was always at the ready, and introspection won over technique giving way to “classic American folk-rock†singing & songwriting which marks John’s style today.John’s first solo record, “Set Freeâ€, was released in 1996, and was heard by producer Anthony Resta (Shawn Mullins, Collective Soul, Elton John, Duran Duran) who introduced him to a publishing arrangement which keeps John’s extensive catalog active in film, DVD & television, including projects & programs such as: “Num3ersâ€, “Joan of Arcadiaâ€, “Hauntedâ€, “Touching the Game- the Story of the Cape Cod Baseball Leagueâ€, “Dawson’s Creekâ€, “Touched by an Angelâ€, “All My Childrenâ€, “The Young & the Restless†and many others.John’s sixth full-length CD was completed in 2003 with Rob Fraboni (Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Rolling Stones) co-producing. This is the second record produced under John’s deal with Germany’s Blue Rose Records. John’s new record, “Livin in the Moment†was produced by Anthony Resta, and released late summer, 2004. John is a prolific writer and is currently working on his 8th full-length CD.John performs in and around New England, Los Angeles, Nashville and in the Midwest with his 5-piece band, the “van Gogh Brothers†featuring Paul Candilore- electric guitar; Steve Latt- pedal steel, fiddle, mandolin & banjo; Clayton Young- bass guitar, and alternating drummers including Mike Levesque (David Bowie, Dave Navarro), John Sands (Aimee Mann) and Andy Plaisted.
