~TOTARO ARE MAKING WAVES IN NEW ENGLAND~
Totaro featuring Sean Russell, Nino Tianeli and John Totaro are making waves throughout the Northeast and it’s about time. Totaro’s influences are all over the map and that only adds to their musical stew. You can hear bits of Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Cracker, Bob Dylan, Wilco, Camper Van Beethoven and pieces of alt-country thrown in for good measure.
John Totaro has been recording and releasing since the 1980s and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Music is catchy and fun without being so mindlessly banal that you’ll hate yourself in the morning. Totaro is fun and serious but an all around good time whether they’re doing an electric or one of theior popular acoustic sets.
Their most recent album, Vice-Presidential Pardons, is available on the CD Baby site (www.cdbaby.com), iTunes with some of the songs streaming on the band’s My Space page.
If you’re just fed up with what you are force fed on the radio then look no further than Totaro.;
Nino Tianeli & John Totaro are pictured above on the cover of 'Vice Presidential Pardons' doing a remake of Bob Dylan's 'Bringing It All Back Home' album cover. Also on the cover are: a pair of Totaro sunglasses; a painting of Neil Young; Cracker's 'The Golden Age' CD; the Clash LP 'Combat Rock'; Time Magazine with Ronald Reagan on the cover (current issue at time photo was taken); The Beatles 'Anthology' book; a book on 'The Republic of Georgia'; The Rolling Stones CD 'Tattoo You'; A.A.'s 'Big Book'; a book on 'The World of Art'; a glass of red wine; a signed copy of the photograph of Bob Dylan used on 'Nashville Skyline'; a pack of Benson & Hedges cigarettes; a bottle of kitchen spices; Catherine Carter's (photographer) keys; Neil Young's 'Harvest Moon' CD; The Beatles 'Revolver' CD; Totaro's 'Toe Tar Row' CD; a bag of Weed Control; Republic of Georgia traditional drinking 'horn' cup; a pair of high heels.
During the past year Totaro did a tour of Eastern Europe; Recorded with Giorgi Ushikishivili in Tbilisi~Georgia 2 Totaro songs; Played live on Boston's WAAF; Did an interview for iTunes with BostonGaragebands.com; Released 'Vice Presidential Pardons'; Opened shows for Cracker; Did national TV in Georgia; Totaro did cable TV in Boston; John Totaro did cable TV with Cracker's David Lowery & Johnny Hickman; John Totaro opened for Bad Company's Simon Kirke; Obtained airplay on commercial & college radio in USA & Europe.
Also, look for the Cable TV show 'Neighbors' which features a half hour interview with John Totaro.
Look for a new retrospective release of 'RAWK TAWK' on Cable TV. Totaro performed four songs and John hosted a look back at band performances he aired on RAWK TAWK in the 1990's.
TOTARO is very pleased to be a part of Sunlight of the Spirit's Artist Roster. Sunlight of the Spirit is located in Nashville, TN and there is a direct link to them below.
