Gomroki comes from the Farsi phrase " To Declare ". As if in passing from death to eternity, when one is asked if they have anything to declare ( Like you are when in an airport crossing from one country to the next )
Most of us will always try to take something with us when we go. Alas, in this life it is not to be. When we die, we will have "Nothing to declare", which translated in the Farsi language means, " Cheesy Gomroki Nederam ". I have nothing to declare.
Allyson and i spoke about these ideas in the fall of 2002 and we have been cultivating a creative spirit from it ever since. Gomroki represents our spiritual journey into the unknown with a deep sense of ourselves in relation to the world around us. We want to leave our mark on the world before we die. Inspite of our best efforts to fix things all of the Joys and the heartbreaks of this human experience are forever captured by, and eventually left behind by all of us; to another, younger and hopefully more capable generation of Seekers.
Inevitability, is not only a means to an end, it is our triumph! We grow and live and love and hope as we run to fulfill the calling that God has placed upon us; to be a light in the darkness and a help to those in need.We have a deep appreciation for visual art - We are currently promoting the digital artwork of San Base for Gomroki's Myspace page.
