About Me

Aurest is an electronic music project initiated by Wyatt Keusch, while studying at the California Institute of the Arts. Initially conceived as a vehicle for the exploration of sound by means of hardware and software electronics in both live and studio settings, Aurest's work is centered around the convolution of meticulous programming and off-the-cuff live improvisation. Sounds Like: Simplistic, reductive criteria based on ineffective, arbitrary aesthetic comparisons that communicate only the dual desires to: a). ride the coattails of previously established artists, and b). further hinder the listener's active perceptual involvement.
