Pope Joan are from Brighton and write noisy pop songs.
Blasts of spiky post-punk funk, ambient walls of processed guitar noise and cheeky 8-bit synth lines are all underpinned by a mega keen pop sensibility.
Live, expect a lot of energy and everything to be played slightly faster.
Pope Joan have recently played some great gigs with the likes of Help She Can't Swim; The Hoosiers; Ghosts; Reuben plus not forgetting recently opening for legends The Fall at both their sold out Brighton shows.
The band have been busy making rough and ready home demos and have just spent a hectic day in the studio recording two new songs. Their track Our Cuisine got selected for the Shifty Disco singles download club plus the band have been asked to put forward a song for the next O.I.B. Records split 7â€.
Exciting!
