Up in the Himalayas you can find rocks decorated with sacred images called Mani-stones. This Manistone is not a painted stone but a band that expresses itself in soulful-music. Inspired by the likes of Love, Beefheart, Television, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mercury Rev, Pavement, The Doors, Neil Young, Patti Smith and many more.
The group began when Scottish singer/songwriter Mike Hyland called on guitarist Murray Gibb to help start the band. Impressive gigs followed around London.
Several line-up changes have occured since the the group began, with Tomer Niv recently joining on bass.
Mike is currently studying Music at Goldsmiths University and performs his work both as a solo artist and with Manistone.
At the moment the band is performing as an acoustic act untill we find the right drummer.
