Harold’s Trousers

The Band That Fits

About Me

Yo Mamma The Short:
A band of people who banded together to do banded things. A naughty blend of afro Cuban/Latin beats, acid jazz grooves, progressive funk and underground hip hop rooted deeply into the musical lifestyle of punk rock and ska.
Also see; Jam-Hop .
The not-so-short but still not very long....
Upon first glance, one might describe Harold's Trousers as your typical Hip-Hop-Rock-Reggae-Soul-Funk-Jam-Punk outfit. However after the mental fatigue caused by this description, most people tend to generalize the music of Harold's Trousers as a funky fusion of goodness. Given life in 1997 (10-17-97 R.I.P. Bernie), 4 friends set out to form a band because it was the "cool" thing to do, and in turn to make music. So these young bucks decided to start jamming in basements and garages after school, these ritualistic Jam sessions became habit forming and "Hungrey Chicken" was born. Soon enough they decided to take it to the next level with the change of the band name to Harold's Trousers as well as the writing of songs, as opposed to impromptu one-timers caught on tape and lovingly named. It wasn't long before they niched out a place amongst the local bands in the Ska and Punk scenes. Despite line-up changes & drastic genre twists over the last decade HT never stopped doing their thing regardless of the consequences. Too punk for the hippies, too urban for the punks and too progressive for the purists the trousers are doomed, cursed and blessed all by their originality; Kind of like a punk rock everything bagel. Refusing to be pigeonholed the Trousers have created a bridge to and from any and every musical genre with which they have experimented, and the consequent fusion has been remarkably fluid and vivacious. This untapped originality cannot be cured with a mere Ritalin prescription. In todays society of over-saturated over-produced over-played unfiltered' watered down typical crappy cry-me-a-river mainstream rock one hell of a sweet ass smurfy-urban-groove is indeed a refreshing alternative that Harold's Trousers is proud to offer. 2007 marked a dramatically significant step for this ever evolving band when founding members of 9 years (original Guitar & Trumpet, and shortly after Alto-Sax & Drums) parted ways and the remaining members were faced with an abrupt decision. Opting to keep the namesake alive and thriving they recruited veteran local musicians to fill this new void. Like the second coming the eclectic sound of the trousers is tighter than ever. Delightfully tacky yet unrefined & getting freakin' sweeter by the day, the music of Harold's trousers will be making its mark, yet again.
Come out to a show. Do it. Do it.
