About Me
Duck-It was born in 1984, in Montreal . His favorite book is 1984 by George Orwell. Coincidence? I think not. Growing up, Duck-It's first collection of tapes included masterpieces like Michael Jackson, Dangerous , Arrested Development, 3 Years 5 Months and 2 Days In The Life Of.. , MC Hammer, Too Legit To Quit , Salt-N-Pepa, Very Necessary , and many other gems.In his high school years, he enjoyed playing trumpet in jazz bands, giving him a feel for the rhythmic, improvisational, and creative aspects that make up Hip-Hop. Playing with greats like Renee Lee, performing was also attractive at the time. Vital albums that brought Duck-It through these years were greats like Wu-Tang, Enter The Wu-Tang (36) Chambers , Snoop Doggy Dogg, Doggystyle , 2Pac, All Eyez On Me , DMX, It's Dark And Hell Is Hot , Big Punisher, Capital Punishment , Outkast, Aquemini , Gangstarr, Moment Of Truth , Eminem, The Slim Shady LP , etc.The year 2002 signaled Duck-It's introduction to the Hip-Hop game and in the same year he dropped his debut album titled Paradox . With beats and production by David Hodges, the project was a success and earned him various accolades. Winning Battle of The New Tracks with the single, Pass The Mic , on Montreal 's only Hip-Hop station, K103.7FM The Monster earned him recognition and interviews. The single was retired to the Hall Of Fame by winning ten consecutive nights through listeners calling in. In 2004, Duck-It enrolled in Concordia University , and met up with producer Plan A. Together, the two formed 5Essence and released an album that also featured David Hodges and Second Thought from Montreal 's Hip-Hop group Eye2Eye.Bringing in the year 2005, fans and critics alike agree that Duck-It is ready to drop his best material. While mastering his writing and the ability to control his vocals, Duck-It is prepared to bring what he thinks is lacking most in the Hip-Hop scene right now. Listening to artists such as Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Necro , Ill Bill, Louis Logic, Cage, etc., he is being inspired by a truer, more authentic version of the music that is so horribly represented in the mainstream culture. Hard beats, intricate rhyme patterns, and raw delivery are the antidote for the poison being spread through rhyming about material riches, spelling your name out in verses and MC's hiding behind production. Duck-It is what will bring back your love for Hip-Hop. He looks forward to being part of the movement that is being put in motion by real artists worldwide, and more specifically, his own hometown of Montreal ... width="425" height="350" ..
