My heritage and the culture surrounding it are a BIG part of who I am and how I relate to the world. I grew up on tortillas and posole, and most of all red and green New Mexico chili~*~*~I love the smell of green chili being roasted in the fall, and luminarias, or farolitos mean christmas to me~*~novena candles, and stories of La Llorona, fideos, and mariachis all have special meaning to me~*~Frida Kahlo is a Goddess~*~She was an amazing woman and because of my hispanic heritage, I fell a special bond with her and her art~*~The following images represent this aspect of me

I try to communicate withh all of my myspace friends, so, I probably won't add you. Thanks~*~LyricsI LOVE ART NOUVEAU!!!! Alphonse Mucha & Toulouse LaTrec were gods!!!!

~*~So many faves~*~
These are those I've loved for as long as I can rememberMy musical tastes are eclectic if anything. I do have my favorites, like, David Bowie, Duran Duran, The Cure, Roxy Music, yes, I love dancing around to that fun 80's nu-wave type stuff, what can I say, I grew up listenning to that, however, I I really dig old smoky jazzy ladies like Edith Piaf, Billy Holiday, and Josephine Baker, they were all just amazing during thier time.Let's see, I am a fan of Reggea, gotta love The Legend Mr. Marley,
I named one of sons after him..then, ofcourse there's the 60's flower child movement, I can listen to CSNY or Bob Dylan anytime. I feel that that was music of substance, yes, I know, nu-wave, to Dylan, what can I say I'm a Gemini....
I like Celtic music, Indian /Hindi music, other world beat, blue grass, jam bands, gotta love The Dead, "cheers Jerry!"

Books:
I do always have a couple of different books going at once, I suppose I like to "mix it up a bit". I've been doing a lot of research lately on the Courtesans of the 19th century. Very interesting, so, I currently have about 6 books on the subject out from my library.
Other than that, well, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, I've read all 6 books to my boys.
I guess my all time faves would have to be "Memoirs of a Geisha", "The Red Tent","The Fifth Sacred Thing", "The Tao of Pooh", and "The Mists of Avalon".This year, so far I've read "Breakfast at Tiffanys", a few other Truman Capote short stories, "The House of Spirits and Whispers", and "The Scarlet Pimpernel"
Heroes:
I have to say that in my life, personally, my heroes are my 2 boys, they alone teach me about life everyday, how to enjoy it, how to see the rainbows, how to have patience, and how to laugh~*~
My maternal grandparents, who have always been there for me, my sisters, and my mom for as long as I can remember, and my paternal grandmother, who overcame obsticles most in her situation may not have, and whom I miss terrribly.
I have always looked up to strong female figures, such as Frida Kahlo, Harriet Tubman, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, Julia "butterfly"Hill, Ina Mae Gaskin, Amy Goodman and Queen Elizabeth I. I also have realized that there are other woman who have made an impact on me, for other reasons, such as Veronique Franco, Clara Bow, Tori Amos, The Geisha, The Courtesans, The Muses....They inspire by thier beauty, charm, and ability to use what gifts they were given~*~ Yes, wait a moment, there are a few men on this list, Bob Marley, Jimmy Carter, Jim Henson, Gerald Gartner, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, and Buddha.
