About Me

Glenys Javier was born in Washington Heights, New York. This Domino-American performer developed a great love for entertaining very early. At the tender age of 4, Glenys was dancing and singing for her parents, family and friends. She cultivated her talent by performing in school plays, never once taking professional training.When Glenys turned 10 years old, her family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. This took her on to a whole new venture. In her new ambiance, she played the violin and various sports. She choreographed her own hip hop dance troupe and entered talent shows from grade school on to high school. Glenys finally began taking professional dance classes in high school where she taught and continued choreographing hip hop sequences. Her performances held high esteem among her peers and instructors. She was named best dancer senior year.Upon graduating high School, Glenys wanted to take dancing to the next level. She went back to New York City where the acting bug bit her soon after. Later Glenys began taking acting courses and auditioning for roles. Glenys acted in student films followed by short films. Eventually, Glenys began acting in Independent full features.In 2006, Glenys began Stage Theater. She got her start on stage with the comedy troupe “Lose Control” performing at the NY Comedy Club, Bowery Cafe and The Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Performing live gave Glenys a new appreciation for acting. The immediate response from the audience fueled her fire to continue. Glenys was most recently on the regional/national tour of the Off-Broadway and college version “Yo Soy Latina,” a play about the Latina experience. Soon after Glenys became a cast member of VLOVE; where she help develope thru workshops her character London. VLOVE is honoring the stop to end violence against women through different voices in The Vagina Monologue inspired play.Glenys has worked in many aspects of film from managing a production company to marketing and promoting full feature independent low budget films. Glenys has added filmmaker to her resume; putting together a team of young talented directors, writers, producers and actors to create and shoot a short film called Jolopeo "Hold Up" due out 2008.Glenys was casted for her first big commercial and print ad for HBO's New York International Latino Film Festival. The print ad will be seen all around New York City summer 2008, the commercial will air on HBO,online and other channel networks. Keep your eye out for this rising star as she becomes her dream.Glenys doesn't stop there she is also in her first stage of developing an organization to help under previlage kids in the Dominican Republic by collecting and donating clothes. She hopes to create a foundation that supplies kids in poverty with the simple things in life alot of people take advantage of like "clothes, shelter,and food". .. ..
