Into the void...

About Me

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~H.P. Lovecraft

The Magician ~A rough thought by Dia~

Through the thicket of the dead woods, he plunged. Staff in hand and bloody dagger at his side, he knocked away dry tree branches as his heart raced. His hands shook as he cleared his thoughts to seek the void again...to guide him. But images of the violent path he crossed that day, sliced through his mind, disturbing his flow. He needed a clearing to meditate.

The sky was a black canvas just like the void he sought. A horned yellow moon sat above a brown hill and glinted on his dagger that hung from his belt. He looked behind him into the bleak woods to make sure he wasn't followed.

He could smell the blood that soaked into the bottom of his robes. He wiped his hands again.

"All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience." – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"Wherefore do ye toil; is it not that ye may live and be happy? And if ye toil only that ye may toil more, when shall happiness find you? Ye toil to live, but is not life made of beauty and song? ... Toil without song is like a weary journey without an end. Were not death more pleasing?"
