I am a 48 yr old single mum with a 16 yr old son. I love Indie music, going to live gigs as often as I can, I am a would-be author and am currently 100,000 words (woohoo!!!)in on my first book, with only one more chapter to write!( UPDATE - IT'S FINISHED. I THINK!!).Second book of the trilogy is now underway! I am an inveterate sci-fi fan, and am currently obsessed with Doctor Who, written and overseen by probably the best writer in the country for years. It also helps that David Tennant is the hottest man on this planet ( and probably a few others besides!) and probably the most talented actor in the country (not that I'm biased or anything). A taster of 'TIMEWALKERS' . CHAPTER 1 - The dull yellow sky overhead was heavy and oppressive. Under it, a lone figure stood on the top of the hill, long coat tails flapping in the breeze, looking out over the purple sea in front of him, his hands jammed into his trouser pockets. He was just standing there, not moving, the breeze ruffling his slightly over-long hair, - hair she had once described as the ‘Just-got-out-of-bed-after-a-bloody-good-shag’ look. It now flopped over the rims of his thick black-rimmed glasses, perched on the end of his thin nose, and trailed in the tracks the tears made as they fell unchecked from his burning eyes to run down his gaunt white face and fall unseen onto the lapels of his long brown overcoat. “God, I miss you” he thought. “I wish you were here with me,” he whispered “you always could see how beautiful this place was”. His words were snatched away by the breeze, floating away, no-one to hear them. He smiles slightly at the thought that crosses his mind “ You always loved that the sea was purple.” He suddenly realises that he is smiling and thinks “Am I healing? – maybe I am.” He turns suddenly, a tortured look in his eyes, and starts to head back down the thin path, back the way he came..... back to the Hell he had created. . .A million miles away, she jerks awake as the noise of the alarm clock intrudes on her dreams (“Nightmares!?” she thinks). Bolting upright she looks at the clock and groans. “Bloody Monday mornings” she grumbles as she throws off the covers, picks up her robe and heads for the shower. Under the spray she thinks of the dream rudely interrupted by the alarm, trying - no, not trying, straining - to picture the face of the man on the hill but unable to, no matter how hard she focuses, it's as if it is forbidden to her. She can however remember his stance on the top of the hill, and the impression she got of him. “So lonely,” she thought “ and sad, very sad – I wonder why? Who is he? Is he someone I know?” She had a faint feeling of recognition, as if she had met him before, but without seeing his face she isn’t so sure. She shakes her head,chuckling to herself, knowing that this could not possibly be true, be real – how could it be?
