Prepare to be ENSORCELLED!

About Me

Prepare to be ENSORCELLED!Pronunciation Key (n-sôrsl)To enchant; bewitch.to rock! The Gnome Sorcery Federation...The legend begins...Opening for The Gnome Sorcery Federation: Maglubiyet Must Fall
By fantasy author: Eldon Thompson'Tis an age of conflict. A civilization on the brink of collapse.
When a city of roses becomes a garden of death.
For a dark god of chaos rises.
A creature of quake and lightning, fire and ice.
To quell mankind and his petty struggles.
And make ready this earth for his goblin brood. The many cannot stop him, only the few. A band of heroes four.
Gnomes they are called, and gnomes they stand proud.
Blessed of arms: axe and sword, hammer and mace.
Keepers of a sacred sorcery.
Long hidden, mistrusted, despised.
This is the time for which they have waited.
This is the time for which they were born.
So make way, feeble mortals.
Beware the devastation soon to be unleashed.
For if the world is to survive..Maglubiyet must fall!Formed in September of 2005 the GSF is out to destroy the standards of the Portland rock scene. They have all been in bands prior to this that were cut short because of the usual ego trip clashes and politics. Quickly becoming sick of other peoples attitudes they decided to get together and start their own group. The idea was to have fun and not set limits for themselves. Everyone in the band has their input and they all get to play what they want. It makes for some outlandish sounding tunes that they are all very happy with.At this point The GSF is playing an frantic collage of speed metal, hardcore punk, surf, jazz, noise and really anything they damn well please! With influences that know no bounds and very pretty widely from Iron Maiden, to Buddy Guy, to the Bad Brains, to Earth Wind & Fire etc etc Their goal is to stick to their ideals of artistic integrity, originality, and chaotic fun while hammering out a diehard following and having a blast along the way.Dave Platt and Jeremiah Kalleck have been friends since grade school. Growing up in the small town of St. Helens Oregon, there wasnt much to do if you werent into slapping asses in the locker room with the other guys. When the 20 sided die werent being thrown across the table and the video game controllers werent clutched in their feverish hands; they could be found making noise on any form of instrument they could find.As soon as humanly possible Dave moved out of the small minded hell hole and landed in Seattle. After a few years of poverty and near homelessness he obtained a degree in sound engineering. Later Dave moved back to Portland. He and Jeremiah got a place together with some friends and the real seeds of madness were planted. Many years, jobs, homes, and bands later Dave called up Jeremiah and asked him to play bass for a new project he was starting. From the first practice everything fit together perfectly and The Gnome Sorcery Federation was born. The next step was to find a drummer. Putting an ad in the local papers did the trick. With the influences of Iron Maiden and the Melvins, their little ad immediately caught the attention of Ben Stoller. He was the first and only drummer they bothered auditioning. Again everything felt perfect from the beginning so why screw with it.Ben had recently moved to Portland with his other band (Mr. V) from Laramie Wyoming, and he was looking for a side project to have some fun with. Not long after the assimilation of Ben, the rest of Mr. V decided to move back to Laramie. Ben opted for staying in Portland to surf friends couches and keep playing with The GSF.The GSF has gone through a few singers and is currently still looking for one. The frantic jumble of noise that they produce tends to intimidate vocalists. This isnt a deterrent though they still get up and regularly assault the ear drums of the unsuspecting citizens of Portland. In March of 06 they went into Dig studios and after 2 blistering days came out with the EP Maglubiyet Must Fall. (Maglubiyet is the god of the goblins mortal enemy of the gnomes) The last vocalist Jake Hutchison put vocals down on the song Fretus. The rest of the vocals for the demo were done by Dave and Jeremiah at the rats nest. (Daves room)There is no avoiding them. The Gnomes are here to stay. Like the stench of malt liquor wafting from a bums decaying mouth, you can not get rid of us. Resistance is futilePrepare to be ENSORCELLED!Members:???: Vox

Our friend and incredible fantasy author Eldon Thompson worked up an epic spoken word opening for us.
Check out his book "The Crimson Sword" It's badass. He has a fresh take on the genre and does not disapoint. No hack Lord of the Rings rip off shit. It's right up there with Terry Brooks, Dragonlance Chronicles, or R.A. Salvatore. (and Brooks is my hero)Eldon Thompson
Merchandising: Operation Rock n' Roll does amazing work. They're located in the Audio Cinema building (226 SE Madison), and do top quality work at poor upstart band prices. They're in it to help give the little guys a break. Check them out.Operation Rock n' Roll (Merchandising)
