Willie’s Wenches

Keeping the world safe for Shakespeare, one laugh at a time!

About Me

Who says Shakespeare is boring? Well, actually a lot of people... but not us! We're Willie's Wenches, a freaky five-some of four ladies and one guy (who usually gets in the way), working for none other than the Bard of Avon himself. Seems Willie S. finally got sick of all the English class-induced snores he was getting and hired us girls to revive the fine Elizabethan traditions of slapstick and and bawdy (or is that bawdily?) humor. Using a multitude of talents (including but not limited to: puppet combat, sci-fi teenage hijinx, and spontaneous musical numbers) we go "undercover" in hilarious retellings of Willie's works to fulfill our mission of no-holds-bard (wink wink nudge nudge) entertainment!

I'd like to meet:

We'd love to meet anyone willing to sit through our shows! For our inaugural season in 2008, we proudly present two of Willie's works, merrily skewered for your enjoyment: "Hamlet the Melancholy Prince or Raspberry Danish", wherein the angst-ridden Hamlet takes on a cast of crazies to fight for truth, justice, and the Scandinavian way. And don't forget the Bard's horror classic: "A Midsummer Nightmare's Dream on Elm Street 13," where the teenaged heroes of the original play take a zombie-filled romp through every scary movie we could think of.

We also wouldn't mind meeting Willie, but he says been dead for over 400 years. Oh well!

Music:

William Shakespeare, comedy, renaissance festivals, rubber chickens, keeping Christopher Marlowe in his place, fart jokes, girly stuff like makeup and ponies

Heroes:

William Shakespeare, anyone who is not Christopher Marlowe
