About Me

One of the most neat things about me is my job. I'm a designer/decorator with 20 years of experience. I have a portfolio if you're interested. I have taught Basic Decorating classes for the community college where I live. This gift and love I have of decorating started at the age of 8 or 9, when my oldest sister would invite me to stay with her. She would take me shopping to buy things for her home. I always loved helping her decorate. And I loved to keep my room clean and would always experiment with the way it was arranged. I have been a top 10 independent decorator for most of my career....currently number 5. Woohoo! Yeah Baby! Regardless, I just want to do what I do best and what I enjoy doing, and that's decorating homes, making them a haven, a refuge, a place of peace and harmony, a place of beauty.Personality wise, I'm not one who gives up that easily. I am emotional, good and bad...(part of the moody cancer sign thingy, I guess, lol) I'm easy going. I've been known to be implusive (following your heart can get you into trouble, but I'm trying give thought to my feelings before taking action.I love to laugh at funny movies and shows, but I'm not a jokester. Love life and people. I enjoy traveling and working. I enjoy cooking. I have recently become a music nut, I love to look up music charts and lyrics and info about songs and artist. It's interesting to me to find out how things so peculiarly fit together.It gives me joy to nurture the ones I love, and I'm a gifter on so many levels. I care about keeping America beautiful, so I volunteer for KAB. And I help with fundraising efforts of many groups for whatever they may need...Habitat for Humanity, Cancer Research, Heart Association, etc. I'm a volunteer for Relay for Life in my community.I'm a mom of two wonderful young men. Both have aspirations to do great things and I'm behind them 100% and hope they reach their goals and dreams. My boys are my joy!If I could wish for anything in the world it would be that the world would have a heart of love and forgiveness and that way everyone would get along with everyone and there would be peace in the world where what's best for one is best for all. It's a dreamer's wish I know, but wouldn't it be grand, everyone would be honest, everyone would be helpful, everyone would care. What a beautiful world it would be!

My Interests

I'm interested in church, family, music, movies, shopping, decorating, reading, book stores, coffee shops, cooking, traveling, musuems, playing bunco, writing, and being a friend.

Music:

There's a ton of music favs!!! Anyband I've invited to be a friend on my space is a music interest for me. Yep, it ranges all types, from soul, r&b, pop, rock, country, christian, folk, etc.... From time to time...I may insert a video that excites me. And I usually change my player daily with a new song. I totally enjoy music...so most of my space friends are music sites of new artist or fan sites.

Movies:

My all time favorite is Pretty Woman! But dig many of the older movies, especially with Cary Grant. I love going to the movies....love the smell of the popcorn and the thrill of the big screen. A few more favs include my love for Pierce Brosnan as 007 and in the Thomas Crown Affair and in his younger career as Remington Steele. I have a passion for heartfelt movies....the cinderella stories...you know, the girl gets the guy and vice versa...caught these on DVD a few years back: "Fools Rush In", "Serendipity" and "Sweet November". Love Wedding Planner, Wedding Singer, My Best Friends Wedding, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Runaway Bride....there's a theme here. Anyway....it's all syrupy! Also love "Pirates of the Caribbean", "National Treasure", "Sahara", "Wedding Crahsers"...and just great all around FUN movies like "Back to the Future" and "Home Alone". I am NOT you're scary, gory, horror movie goer....sorry, just can't do those. Give me fun and romantic anyday. Just saw Lake House .... it was good! Love Sandra Bullock and Reeves in this movie, they have great chemistry.

Television:

I enjoy when I get the chance to watch: The Ghost Whisper, Twins, Charmed, CSI New York, Flip this House, Travel Channel (Samantha Brown), Food Network, TCM, Made in America, Discovery Channel, What Not to Wear, Deal or No Deal....I'm mostly random in tv viewing because of my schedule.

Books:

Enjoy anything by Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steel, I love collecting cookbooks and most definitely any and all decorating books and magazines...like Better Homes and Garden, Southern Living, Home, etc.
