after a year heavily under the influence of bebop trumpeter Pat Harbison , i continued studying jazz with classic bop guitarist Jack Peterson and then earned a Bachelors in 20th Century Composition under experimental music maestro Larry Austin at the University of North Texas . now i divide my time between playing live, recording, writing, and producing this & that with one foot in LA, another in SF, another in NYC, another in Berlin, and tentacles reaching everywhere in between.
fronting the group Baby Snufkin, i toured the US and Europe extensively for years writing and producing all of their material for labels such as Unkulunkie Records, Heyday Records, and numerous compilations. i produced Wire Graffiti's release 'Peculiar Love' for Hand Wash Music, two releases for Casino Royale for Double Play Records & Varese Sarabande/Universal, the EP 'Sophia' for The Radishes as well as a video single for Alternative Tentacles' group The Freak Accident.
the new full length CD for The Radishes called 'Good Machine' was just released. i played guitar & bass as well as produced with Mark Needham mixing. recently, The Radishes finished tracking yet another EP with bassist Paul Barker (Ministry, Revolting Cocks), drummer Rey Washam (Steve Albini, Scratch Acid), & rock legend Wayne Kramer (MC5). once again, i played guitar & am producing/mixing. this year i produced a release for Kristen Marie Holly and mixed tracks for Lawrence Katz & '07 Warp Tour artist Cottonmouth TX.
i wrote, performed, and produced the soundtrack for the award-winning documentary 'Right Road Lost' by Victoria Gamburg (Gamburg Films), the indie French film 'Kidnapping', and the short film 'Just Friends' by Michelle Ortega (Hip Chick Flicks) as well as music for A&E, PBS, CNN, Frontline/World and theatre trailers for the Lunafest Film Festival, SF's 24th Anniversary Film Festival, and the Film Arts Foundation. earlier this year The Fuxedo's short music film 'Mimsy' which i played on & mixed won a 'Best of' award at the Silverlake Film Festival (LA). this summer i composed & produced the music for Hip Chick Films new short 'Justin's Lot' which is in festivals now. i also appeared this year in the music video for 'Quicksand' by Shannon Moore.
i also periodically write, record, and tour behind 3 solo CDs which have led to gigs on the East/West Coast, Canada, and Europe. my last disc 'A Night Of Unknown Death Or Life' was picked up for the legendary Polish experimental label 'ARS2'.
