Tributosaurus, the Chicago sensation, has now come to Los Angeles, with founder Matt Spiegel unleashing the beast monthly. This is the antithesis of a normal tribute band; every set is tweaked with the lineup essential to nail the material – from percussion, vibraphone, and strings for Marvin Gaye, to 3 guitars, 3 keyboards, 4 horns, and 3 background singers for Steely Dan. No costumes, no makeup, no wigs – just phenomenal music given its perfect due. It is a one-night experience that will never be performed again. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------- In August 2002 it surfaced in Chicago, and it became The Who. September was Sly & the Family Stone. Tributosaurus is not just a band…it is a musical event, a happening. Tributosaurus is the beast of multiple musical faces, and every month, the beast morphs into a different rock group. The finest musicians gather together…to sing and play songs they’ve wanted to cover all their lives. October was Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, with perfect harmonies. Highlight shows since have included Stevie Wonder, Yes, Led Zeppelin, The Replacements, and Elton John. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Some of the amazing musicians to join the band already here in Los Angeles include Elliot Easton (The Cars), Mike Farrell (Morrissey, Macy Gray), Greg Suran (Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel), Jimmy Z (Eurhythmics, Etta James), and core members this month Scott Bennett and Brett Simons (Brian Wilson).
