Directed by Roger Parsons, the Leicester Big Band presents a programme of the very best jazz and swing around. When it comes to swing music, you'd be hard pressed to beat the likes of Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Ted Heath.... the list is endless and the Leicester Big Band plays works by all of these jazz icons.Of our two featured vocalists, Morgan Perkins recreates the great hits of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Dean Martin and Karen Jamieson performs hit songs from the great female artists----Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney and Helen O'Connell to name but a few.And every member of the band is from Leicestershire!
