My name is Trond Holter, born and raised in Halden, in the eastern part of Norway. I’ve been working with music all my life as a guitarist and a song writer. I have my own studio at Idd, just outside the city of Halden, The Rock Ranch website: www.therockranch.no and Myspace: www.myspace.com/therockranchofficial where I produce songs for my own bands and other artists.
Some of you may also know me as “Teenyâ€, the famous guitar player in WIG WAM :)
This is a brief summary (in cronological order) of the most important parts of my music life:
Bankock Suxx: 1982-1984
Bankock Suxx was a glam/punk band before I joined and became a bit more heavy after that. Hanoi Rocks was the heroes, and the bands highlight was of course as a support act for Hanoi Rocks in Oslo at a club called studio 26.
Evinrude (Ole idole): 1982-1989
We had lots of fun together, touring and recording albums. The highlights were of course recording albums in London and New York. And working together with producer Geoff Downes was a real blast. No to forget meeting people like Robert Plant, Gary Moore, Andy Scott and Mick Tucker.
Dream Police: 1989-1992
We had a great time together, made 2 albums and were constantly on a tour somewhere.. Dream Police sold about 70 000 records in Norway, Japan and Canada. The band did its last performance in May 1992 and broke up soon after that.
Dream Police has a MySpace page run by Hege Augestad.
Thanks a lot Hege! www.myspace.com/dreampoliceband
After Dream Police I joined a blues band and played in some clubs for a couple of years, until I got tired of the music scene and quit playing totally for 6 years. I worked in various studios as a sound engineer, and learned a few things about the recording process that comes real handy these days. I’m still learning and developing my skills.
Wig Wam: 2001-
Wig Wam started as a band in 2001. Since then Glam, Flash, Sporty & Teeny (that's me) have recorded several albums, 2 DVDs and we've been touring around in Norway, in parts of Europe and in Japan having the greatest times together, and we still do! Travelling around the globe with these guys must be the greatest job in the world. We even represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv Ukraine 2005 and gained a respectable no 9, opening up the contest for rock'n'roll and the fantastic LORDI 2006-victory. The story of Wig Wam is amazing and continues in 2008 when we will start recording our third studio album. Stay tuned and visit us at our website www.wigwam.no and/or at our MySpace page www.myspace.com/wigwamania
Trond Holter band: 2007-
This is my side project... Trond Holter, and I’m happy to announce the members: Rino Johannessen from Dream Police, EirÃkur Hauksson from Artch, Stig Buckholm from CRASH! and me :)
The success of Wig Wam has made it possible for me to build a studio where I'm able to be creative and make good quality rock’n’roll music (at least in my opinion). I also write music that doesn’t fit into the Wig Wam world, but still is music that I enjoy. I’m in need to get these tunes out of my system so there will be an album in the near future. This project is going to pop up whenever there's a break in my ordinary working hours.
We had our first official performance in my hometown Halden 22.12.07. Trond Holter band will hit the road and do some club gigs in the near future, so check out the calendar on my website www.trondholter.com and/or at our MySpace page www.myspace.com/trondholterband
For those of you familiar with Facebook we also have a band profile page. Trond Holter Band To join us there you need to have a profile of your own.
