Straight out the Boogie Down Bronx, the OFFICIAL birth place of Hip Hop, Roli Fingaz (pronounced “Ra-Lee Fingers”) has quickly established himself as a premier Mixtape DJ, Remixer and Producer in the music industry. Using a unique combination of multi-beat blends and exclusive acapella remixes; Roli Fingaz has blessed the masses around the world with new iterations of his creative and highly sought after “Fire Blends” mixtape series and his exclusive hip hop “My Time To Shine” mixtape series. In addition, Roli Fingaz in November 2004 made his national television debut on BET’s Rap City, Tha Bassment along side recording artist Ja Rule and host Big Tigger. Ultimately landing him a radio slot on AOL Radio who caters to over 9 MILLION monthly listeners. Not to be over looked, Roli’s mixtape skills and ear to music helped him earn a spot on the 2004 April issue of the Source Magazine in the Ear To The Streets section for his classic and much talked about mixtape “Fire Blends Pt.7” (best of Jay-Z blends), which received rave reviews for its creativity and originality since Roli was the FIRST DJ to ever take Jay-Z’s hit songs throughout his triumphant career in acapella and flip his vocals with multiple-beats in such a way that highlights the talent Jay-Z really was and still is. As the word keeps getting out, Roli Fingaz is now being considered as one of todays brightest and most talented DJs in the mixtape industry with an even brighter future ahead of him as he expands his musical talent and creativity on producing beats for well known artist as well as opening doors for the hottest unsigned rap group coming out the streets of the Bronx, “Da Block Controllers”.
Born in Queens New York and raised in the Bronx, Roli Fingaz a 29-year-old Ecuadorian-American, initial introduction to the tools of his trade came through experimenting with a friend’s belt-driven turntables and old record collection. This evolved into enough of an interest that Roli began working with a Gemini DJ start-up kit and spinning at parties held at a local community center around his way. Considering DJing as nothing more than just a hobby, Roli Fingaz enrolled at SUNY New Paltz in the fall of 1997. However, Roli’s urge and hunger to continue spinning led to his turntables taking up residence in his dorm room after a semester long hiatus. From there talent and perseverance materialized into regular gigs at local bars and nightclubs in a college town known for it’s parties and eventually employment at the campus radio station as a mixshow DJ. Having to meet college radio requirements and regulations allowed Roli to develop a good understanding of sound engineering and production. This skill set allowed him to start promoting his talent and skills through promotional mixtapes. Focused on distinguishing himself from the rest of the mixtape DJs and an inner desire to be creative and entertain, he chose to do blends (remixes) on his mixtapes as opposed to simply throwing songs together without mixing it and calling it a mixtape which many DJs sadly were doing and still are today. His goal was to establish his name with quality mixtapes. To the point that people will admire and appreciate all the time and effort he puts into every mixtape release. In a short period of time, Roli Fingaz quickly garnered a loyal following and appreciation from hip-hop purists for the incredible confluence of hot beats, rhymes and style he offered.
Currently, Roli Fingaz continues to promote his mixtapes through his own production company, ?And Judo Know? Entertainment. In addition, in 1999 Roli Fingaz began producing party break records, for AV8 Records, Bud Records, and Slammin’ Records, receiving worldwide distribution of his production work. In addition, getting worldwide airplay on radio stations as well as nightclubs. The worldwide sales of these party break records and widespread distribution of his mixtapes has helped expand Roli’s name and talent to every continent. Not one to be content, Roli Fingaz has also been working on his production skills and is eliciting heavy interest in his beats from numerous labels. He is in active negotiation for a production deal with Roc-A-Fella Records, Universal Records and Sony/Columbia Records. With each new area of the music industry Roli Fingaz succeeds in, he further solidifies his status as one of the most talented young DJs in hip-hop today.
