When you see the label you see prestige and class. When you hear our music you hear pain, struggle, and get the feeling of how it is to live life in these streets. When you support this label you support the dream of three young men who grew up living in the hood just like the next nigga. But then again we ain't exactly just like your ordinary next nigga. STR8 HEAT RECORDS is a label based on producing straight heat, and even though the presence of irony in that statement is amusing it is also the truth and our intention. The CEO of STR8 HEAT RECORDS, Joseph “Future” Tate, is the main founder of the label. Being from a sketchy and dark past his laid-back nature and pure boss mentality has made him the leader he is today, and provides the backbone for STR8 HEAT RECORDS. Having experience in this game for some time now “Future”, being a producer/artist himself, has a habit of putting together the most fresh new exhilarating unknown talent out there to produce, write, and record music that is straight heat. This habit could be considered to be a good one but can be labeled as a bad habit by people who hate and don’t like to see other generals rise to power. Apprentice and close friend of “Future”, Marcos “M.A. Eazy” Persaud, is a hot new fresh producer who can play with sounds, produce music you can tell your life story to, and still pop out club-bangers to bop your head and move your body to like it’s never been done before. This young musical prodigy having a violent and rough upbringing uses his pain, anger, as well as past experiences to produce music or as he likes to call it “expressions of himself.” Always going against the norm, keeping all his exploits and productions straight heat, and staying true to himself, his principles, and his word; this young, fly, flashy, and careless producer is fearless. “M.A. Eazy”, who has a background in writing and rapping, uses his experience and passion for the game to be Producer/A&R to STR8 HEAT RECORDS. Best friend of “M.A. Eazy” and cousin of “Future”, James Acosta (better known as J.A. Costa), is STR8 HEAT RECORDS’s promotion and marketing head. A record label on the rise needs to be promoted and managed right to make it succeed, and “J.A. Costa” has the promotional know how and the “Corporate America” business mind set to bring STR8 HEAT RECORDS to the top. “M.A. Eazy”, growing up since kindergarten with “J.A. Costa”, knows him very well and suggests his skills and promotional contribution were made for STR8 HEAT RECORDS saying simply, “-this guy knows what he’s doing...he’s a beast.” These three founders of STR8 HEAT RECORDS started up the label in early December of 2005 deciding it was time to bring something new to the table in this rap game. Having many influences and a couple pushes in the right direction, all three of these founders came together and decided to bring some flavor in this game and in the words of STR8 HEAT’s producer “M.A. Eazy”, “spice it up a lil’ bit!” STR8 HEAT’s CEO, “Future”, coined the phrase and formed the name “STR8 HEAT RECORDS”; “M.A. Eazy” having an artistic/graphic designing background made the logos, and the pieces of the puzzle were put in place then STR8 HEAT RECORDS was born. Although many pieces are still missing due to the fact that we are a young label, the future holds the missing pieces needed to complete the puzzle, as well as expansion, and success. The commitment to producing straight heat or STR8 HEAT is strong and will be upheld as long as STR8 HEAT RECORDS exists. It’s all about the quality of music we produce and the response to it by our fans, and by fans we mean everyone who feels our sound, feels what we express in our music, and supports our music. Anyone who is unknown and talented and wants to show us that you all about making STR8 HEAT just holla at us. Anyone else who wants to get on but you a natural born hater and too hard-headed and ignorant to be put on you could 1 yourself. Every winter we turn cold-hearted so the next 5 summers is ours.
