My Interests

I am currently the guitarist and lead singer for the Boston based band Awakening Stick. If things slow down a bit at work, I would like to start another project that would be a lot more 70's rock and roll, psychedelic blues rock, and soul influenced. I was also the mandolin player in the Gobshites. It was a lot of fun, but available time to put into the project was always at a premium. I used to road race motorcycles and sidecars. I raced a 1937 Indian Sport Scout, and a 1953 Harley K-Model powered sidehack. I currently own 1954 and 1959 Harley KR-750 Roadracers. Maybe this year, I can get one running and back on the track. I also ride a 1959 Harley FLH.

I'd like to meet:

I'd really love to meet some musicians here on the north shore. I've lived here a few years and spend most of my time working my balls off! I sometimes go to Dodge Street Grill to see local music. Otherwise, I go some some of my older more familiar haunts, such as the Abbey Lounge when time allows. I'd like to put together a new band soon. I really hope this will become a reality.

Music:

Rock and Roll, Baby!!! Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Dictators, Blue Oyster Cult, Motorhead, Supersuckers, Mahogany Rush, Sonic's Rendezvous Band, Cosmic Psychos, Bevis Frond, Frank Zappa, Gluecifer, Nomads, Radio Birdman, Humble Pie, Robin Trower, Ten Years After, and just about any decent band that I can catch in the Boston area on a weekend night.

Movies:

Dr. Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian. I also really love black and white horror and monster movies from the 50's, 60's and earlier. The original Nosferatu was one of the creepiest movies ever made. All the digital imaging in the world does not compare to ones imagination as they see shadows in a black and white film. That one is REALLY scary.

Television:

What's television? Oh yeah, it's that stupid fucking box that industry and the government uses to suck your brains out of your eye sockets and blindly follow the bullshit party line they feed you. Just Say No!

Books:

Atonement - Ian McEwan, Rogue Nations - Noam Chomsky, Hitchhicker's Guide - Douglas Adams, Eaters of the Dead - Michael Crichton, Steppenwolf - Hermann Hesse, Common Sense and The Rights of Man - Thomas Paine

Heroes:

Thomas Paine, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Lemmy, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Hermann Hesse, Ross the Boss

My Blog

Say a few syllables, Damn It!

Another summer gone. I started working on a new record. We went to Hi-N-Dry studio at the end of August and laid down some basic tracks. It was the hottest day of the summer, and they had no AC. The b...

New music site, and other stuff. 4/23

Well, since I haven't put anything up since October, I thought I'd bore you all a bit. Since I screwed up when I set up my MySpace page, and didn't do it as a band thing, I have recently set up a...

New Stuff

Played CBGB's Lounge last night. It was downstairs, and kind of reminded me of the Rat. I had a lot of fun. I miss playing, and I'm really burned out working so much. Anyway, enough of my bitching. I ...

Rant for a Tuesday night

So I just got done with my second twelve hour day this week. I've been averaging 52 to 56 hours a week at work and getting seriously burned out in the mean time. So I come home and ...
