In the 40s and early 50s I mainly listened to my parent's music. In 1954 while at summer camp one of the counselors kept playing Bill Haley's latest song "Rock Around The Clock" on a wind up phonograph. From then on I was Rockin'. Although it was hard to find the music on many stations I quickly found out that the local Country stations had some great Rockin' songs that they called Rockabilly. Elvis had just hit the national charts with his RCA version of Heartbreak Hotel in 1956 when I was a Freshman in High School. As you can see I've ended up just about where I started.
