About Me

The New Messengers rock. They have great songs with the stuff most rock bands forget to include, like melodies and harmonies, and lyrics that go beyond boy girl problems. Its obvious what their record collections are full of: the solid classics- Neil Young, Big Star, Television, and the hippest indies- Pavement, Belle & Sebastian, the Flaming Lips, but they somehow manage the neat trick of sounding like contemporaries, instead of derivative.

I saw them four times while I was [in Chicago], and they were great every time. They seem to not only rock, but to actually have fun doing it, which is surprisingly contagious.
