I'd like to meet:
People. All kinds!!! The kinds that enjoy the walks on my off kilter sidewalks. The kind that laze under my magnolias. The ones that laugh and play with their children in my parks. Yes, all kinds. The folks that can't decide what they want to photograph first. The people that can't get enough of the history and architecture that has blossomed throughout the years. I would love to meet the ones that dont pick my flowers and leave them for the next to marvel at.
Music:
Cary Street Cafe has for years hosted live music seven nights a week featuring bluegrass, jazz, jam and funk bands.
Bogart's has been called Richmonds best little speakeasy; their backroom features jazz and funk local and national acts usually every night of the week. Restaurants
Over on the corners of Broad and laurel stands the building that has housed such memories such as Rockitz and the Metro. The current incarnation, Empire has veered away from the shanagans of the old days and focused more on a comfortable meeting place and excellent choice to dine. Every so often sneaking in a show or two. Which tend to be unique and that sell out quickly. Check them out!!
One long, long, looooong time standby in the fan is
The Village Cafe .
Located on the corners of Grace and Harrison. It services absolutely every walk of life you could imagine and then some. Recently trading owners seems to at the very least brought some light to the place. Everyone seems to be holding their collective breaths hoping for the right changes, but not to many to fast.
