“Rock n’ Roll is more than a simple word used to describe a certain genre of music. It is an entity that transcends what is heard by the ear. In essence, Rock n’ Roll is an attitude.â€
This is the philosophy that Phoenix based Pinner lives by. Formed under the sun, in the blistering heat of the Arizona desert, Pinner is the up and coming Rock n’ Roll band to be heard. Coming together in November of 05’, Pinner has set the standard for new acts looking to be heard outside of the Grand Canyon State. In under a year they are already poised to release their debut full length album tentatively titled “Buisness VS. Pleasure.†This record comes complete with thirteen, in your face, up tempo, no holds bared, rock tracks to keep you coming back for more. Recorded in L.A., at Master Blaster Studios, under the production genius of Evan Rodeniche, (Cage 9) Pinner is hoping to make quite the impact.
“We are very proud of this album,†says singer/guitarist Jay Witter. “It’s rock music the way it’s supposed to be played; with attitude and heart!†Furthermore, Carlos from Bodog Music says, “These guys know how to play Rock n’ Roll.â€
Who is Pinner?
Pinner is comprised of an eclectic influential pallet.
Singer/Guitarist Jay Witter grew up listening to old school country music, such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson; Jay went on to take influences from G n’ R and Motley Crue throughout his teen years.
Florida born Rob Bass, lead guitarist, learned how to play watching guitar legends Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Hendrix, and Tom Morello. “With Rob’s blues background, he can do just about anything with his guitar to accommodate and refine our songs.â€
Bass player Mark Garcia is an enigma, taking influences from Pennywise, Sublime, Pantera, and Bob Marley, of whom he is a huge fan. Mark will play, “Anything, as long as it rocks!â€
What does Pinner sound like?
If you took equal parts Helmet, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, and a pinch of country swagger, you would come up with Pinner. The sum of the parts should always be the whole, but in Pinner’s case, the end result will always surpass what would be expected. Just think Rock n’ Roll and you will never be disappointed! “The best part about Pinner is our take on Rock n’ Roll is completely fresh and ready to blow.†Says Jay Witter, “Like a platoon of soldiers storming a beach with no way home.â€
Let’s hope everyone else thinks the same. ROCK!!!!
