About Me

My name is James Henderson and headshot photography is actually my second job, but I'll get to what I do now in a minute. I used to be a huge nerd in high school, "used to be" being an extremely relative use of words compared to my current style of nerdiness. After high school I made an extremely scholarly attempt to become an architect and engineer through college. Even though my grades were Dean's list quality, the 72 straight hours I spent awake on my last architecture project told me it was not for me. After trying my hand at the "real" world by working as a sales rep for Nabisco, I decided to make an attempt at the fake one here in Los Angeles (despite having all the Oreos® I could eat). So this brings you up to speed. Since I've been making my run at being a successful photographer in LA, I also work in the film and TV industry as an actor (when I get lucky), stand-in (mostly) and background performer (fills in the gaps). Check out the IMDB link in my company section for just a few of my credits. I've been in LA for about 8 years now and I have to say that it's finally starting to grow on me. I've only been doing photography for about 4 of those years, but I'm striving to improve my work with every picture I take and every set I work on. It's one of my all time goals to see the world before I retire. Until I can afford to do that (or at least start doing that), I'm doing my best to capture what is in front of me on day to day basis.

Outside of the norm, I am someone that values educated theories from intelligent people. One topic that I feel more people should be aware of is a very important one called "Peak Oil". If you are hearing the words "Peak Oil" for the first time, you should watch a few videos on the website WWW.PEAKAWARE.COM for a quick overview. It has one of the best collections of Peak Oil educational videos I've seen and it's a great place for showing you how relevant the topic of "Peak Oil" is to our modern society. Whatever you do, don't brush it off, because if you do, you'll be completely in the dark when you're having trouble putting gas in your tank or food on your table. For those truly interested in keeping up with current events of peak oil and the economy, check out the LIFE AFTER THE OIL CRASH website for updated articles worth your time.
