My names magic also known as ceramic in my producer guise and this is my space.I was born in west london but reside in the beautful south, originaly a jungle/drum and bass dj but now experimenting in the sound they call broken beat or nu jazz if you will, my style is very simple, keep it rolling keep it tight and give the crowd what they want.I was a regular at AWOL in the early 90's and this had a big influence my musical taste and style of play, hearing the likes of randall, kenny ken and gatchet rolling out sets in te early hours of a sunday morning used to blow me away and i still try to keep that vibe that they gave me back in those days going now. As times moved on and the DnB sound changed i found myself searching other genres as i grew tired of the sound of reese bass, i found myself going to house clubs cos there was a vibe there and a unity among the punters thats was simular to trhe early jungle days and i began to make house music and also dj, but it still was'nt quite what i was looking for as i found myself limited to the style of beat mixing i could do, no longer could i mix basslines together or bring mixes in quickly to get reaction from the crowd, i had to wait and plan what i was doing and couldn't really exspress myself through the mix the way that i wanted.Then in 2001 i bumped into an old friend from school who said he was working with some guys called dego and domu and going to a club called co op and that i should go check it out with him so i did and was imedietly hooked on the distorted twisted basses and the erie sounds coming from the funktion 1 sound system, it was like being back at AWOl but just on a smaller scale.Since that day i've been making and playing broken beats across london and the uk and around the world and im loving every bit of it , you can hear some of my production and mixes on this page and i hope you enjoy the journey and the vibes that i bring.My names Magic Aka Ceramic and this my space.
