Method Unique

Method Unique burst on to the scene with their now broken beat classic, Travesty. They have been honing their craft for over seven years and have worked with a number of different artists and labels. Method Unique consists of Leon Williams (singer, song writer and producer) and Lynford Pencil (producer and mastering engineer) and their motto is to produce, write and sing emotive and inspiring music.Leon and Linford joined forces to create Method Unique to avoid being classified under the Urban umbrella, feeling their music was better suited to a mature (but not necessarily older) and diverse listener.Their sound emerges from a musical background which involved following and featuring on sound systems and playing the drums, the piano and singing for the local gospel church choir. Growing up with such varied influences including James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers, Patrice Rushen plus the vibrant London underground club scene you start to understand how their sound has evolved.Method Unique are exciting and bring a welcome breath of fresh air to the Nu Jazz scene. With Travesty underneath their belt as an international hit and their new joint Read Between The Lines currently ripping up the airwaves world wide, throw in a hotly anticipated ep and album in the pipeline, watch this space.
