Hailing from South Queens PROVOKE, brings a new edge to both the underground and commercial markets. The hip-hop/rap genre has yet to see a believable artist cover all grounds with such class, or hear someone take it from the club to politics in such style. On his first release, "NYC," PROVOKE used his mastery of 13 innovative industry beats to pave the way for spots on the hottest mixtapes on the street, such as Tapemasters Inc.'s, DJ Envy, DJ Scene and DJ Wreck, just to name a few.
You may have heard Provoke on street freestyles featuring Gold artist Akinyele, Big Pun protégé, Cuban Link or Interscope/Mosely recording artist John D.O.E. PROVOKE's August 2004 release, "Can You Hear Me Now?" was hosted by Justos's Rookie of the Year, DJ L, and up and coming mix tape DJ–DJ Elbow. "Can You Hear Me Now?" is 25-songs of heat, featuring commercial tracks such as "Get Down," and "Ring the Alarm," both produced by ReemaBeets; but, PROVOKE also stays true to his roots, dropping street credible underground songs like "My Life," and "Come Back to Me," both produced by AC.
PROVOKE has been ranked 2` of 3232 artists in the hip-hop category on GARAGEBAND.COM, , while also climbing to 1 in "lyrics" overall in all genres out of millions of artists on that same site. PROVOKE's 3rd release, "Who the F*%k is PROVOKE?". The album, hosted by Tapemasters Inc., has sold 10,000 copies underground, with no major promotion from any label. The PROVOKE Myspace page ( www.myspace.com/PROVOKE) has received 110,000 hits and continues to grow by the hour.
PROVOKE's remix of the Mya single "Ayo" which also featured Dj Kool, and was produced by Chris "Deep" Henderson, developed an extreme amount of internet buzz, being charted across the world, and also building a great repoire with radio and mix tape Dj's alike. Provokeworldwide.com includes a new movement, a more established brand, full marketing and promotional support, and brand new PROVOKE song material. PROVOKE is due to breakout nationally on release of his new album in the last half of 2007.
