About Me

I love to really live my experiences. I create adventure through travel and seek unique situations to expand my circles and influence. My best experiences have allowed me to share stories of exotic adventures, new scars or a list of what to do next time you want a life changing experience. You might find me mountain biking in the Rockies, hiking the Appalachian Trail or taking in a jazz show at the Montreal Jazz Festival. My favorite plans involve getting out of town for a weekend get away with someone special to see a little more of what this wonderful gift of life has to offer. Life is my experience, the company I keep only makes it better. It's about making the impossible happen while laughing and playing with fantastic people. * I am a very patient person, Patience is not passive: On the contrary it is active; it is concentrated strength.*A horoscope I thoroughly enjoy: You are lucid, perceptive, almost clairvoyant, Scott. People would be much better off on your side, rather than trying to do battle with you. The choice of weapons is up to you, and the battle will take place on your territory. Nothing gets by you. You have the answer to everything. You will understand everything before it's explained to you. In short, nothing can get in your way. Just be careful where your sense of fair play is concerned!*The Dali Llama says that in the case of individuals, there is no possibility to feel happiness through anger. If in a difficult situation one becomes disturbed internally, overwhelmed by mental discomfort, then external things will not help at all. However, if despite external difficulties or problems, internally one's attitude is of love, warmth, and kindheartedness, then problems can be faced and accepted. I interpret this to mean that we need to focus on solving things through kindness and keeping our personal happiness at the forefront of our mind. I guess the question to ask is how does my behavior serve me and lead me toward a happier life? How can I continue to bring others with me? Even heavy automobile traffic out of New York City on a summer weekend minutely unbalances the earth as it rotates. We all make a difference.

My Interests

Probably interested in trying it, hearing about it or at least laughing at you for doing it. I like getting my heart rate up, my feet off the ground and letting the creative juices flow. I ride bicycles, a lot.

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking for people that like to get out and have fun, anywhere, no, make that everywhere. Individuals and groups that search for inner peace and outer adventure. I'm looking for some free spirits to take flight with and share life changing experiences. More friends, let's go, there are things to do, places to go, people to meet and times to share.

Music:

Yes, I like music. Send me some.

Movies:

Goodfellas, Big Lebowski, Animal House, God Father, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, most funny movies. Sin City, Lord of the Rings and most science fiction and fantasy.

Television:

Blow up the television, can you hear your life being sucked away? Find something better than staring at the box, I have suggestions. Besides, you can't watch TV and make life happen at the same time, I won't accept a dictated existence through programming. Some things we can do are too good for the writers to come up with, let's do that.

Books:

Biography, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Psychology, Human Behavior, Business and Self-Help. Favorite authors could be R.A.Salvatore, Robin Hobb, Ed Greenwood, Katherine Kurtz, Margaret Wise, Tracy Hickman and a thousand others. I also like books on spirituality and relationships when the mood strikes me. Mostly I just love to read and fly away.

Heroes:

My parents, family or anyone else who does something they are scared of because it needs to get done. So many people deserve admiration there is hardly enough time to write them all down. A toast to the people who did what they needed to, so the world could be better for it, cheers.

Style

Style is being yourself, but on purpose. I just can't help but laugh about this statement. Not because I think it incorrect but because of it's simple and intrinsic truth. It makes me ask "who am I...

Good friends make life worth it.

So just when you think the whole world sucks, a friend comes out of the wood work, or glass work as the case may be, and tells you what you need to hear. Not always what you want to hear the way you ...

Not what I expected

"For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn."  Maybe Hemingway had something there.  Was he talking about a hope that never came to fruition.  Maybe a plan that went awry or just that he never ha...

Religion v Spirituality

There is so much to be said but this quote is a great start. I believe there is an important distinction to be made between religion and spirituality. Religion I take to be concerned with belief in t...

Humility

Sometimes we feel that life is so important and that what we see for ourselves is all encompassing, to everyone.  Benjamin Franklin spent a lifetime focusing on his virtues while he became one of...

Stop and think

What do you know?  Are you sure, because I sure as hell am not.  People, myself at the head of that line, are always so concerned with the things they know.  It just makes me think, wha...

Controled reality

Control, the idea that what we desire to happen will develop through our own will or influence.  I made that definition up but it certainly sounds good doesn't it?  That is exactly the point...

Todays meditation

Of all the ways you can think of, none has a sixteenth part of the value of loving-kindness. Loving-kindness is a freedom of the heart which takes in all the ways. It is luminous, shining, blazing fo...
