Ingebrigt HÃ¥ker Flaten

Ingebrigt Håker Flaten hails from the alpine ski resort Oppdal/Norway. After gaining some serious chops at the renowned Trondheim Conservatory, he moved to Oslo in the mid-1990’s and quickly established himself as one of Norway’s premier bassists. Today, on top of leading his own quintet, Ingebrigt is a member of so many bands it’s difficult to keep count, but he is no mere workaholic. He is the heartbeat of the Nordic all-star quintet Atomic and the hydraulic pump that powers the raucous garage jazz trio The Thing. He is the Scorch Trio’s earth mover and the elegant lower register of the chamber jazz group Free Fall. He is an irreplaceable presence in these and many other groups.
