Mixing danceable drums, pacey guitars, infectious basslines, and synths; Adelaide's Poly&theStatics create exciting, genre-bending pop songs that you won't forget. They've built themselves a strong reputation around hometown Adelaide and interstate having supported The Presets, Wolf&Cub, The Lemonheads, Dappled Cities Fly, Panda Band, Starky, The Mess Hall, Riff Random, Dead Frenchmen and The Boat People, succeded in assorted competitions, played at the 2007 Big Day Out, released three EP's and recieved solid radio airplay across Australia on Triple J, Nova, FBI, RRR and 3D Radio (15 most played 2005, 16 in 2006).
Unfortunately, Poly&theStatics are no longer together. We'd like to think it was because of creative differences, but then that wouldn't have been a creative reason. So, we thought it might be best to leave the break up up to your imagination....For example, perhaps Josh decided his trip to Antarctica would change his life and as it turned out his new mission in life is to live as one with the penguins? Jon may have found a new career in making boutique socks, made especially for the left and right foot? Tom may have decided to branch out into his job at the video store and start directing porn movies in the back room (apparently it pays really well)? And for Greg, well, he's still wondering whether the glass is half full or half empty.Regardless of the outcome, we are all greatful for everyone's support over the years. We have all had a great time being in Poly and there are many memories that will live with us forever.Thanking you kindly.Poly
