Elvis Mondays is a music showcase on Mondays at The Drake Underground. No cover. Launched by William New, it has been a stronghold of indie culture and rising bands for several decades, from Morphine, Peaches, Change Of Heart, and Billy Talent, to most recently Spiral Beach, The Miles, and The People Of Canada. Ontop of that, included is the Starving Artist Buffet, so come early to indulge in a meal! The Elvis Mondays series continues to be the breeding ground of some Toronto's most daring and original music talent.
"At the time, I told rock journalists Elvis had come to me in a dream and instructed me to marry Lisa Marie, who was about 13 at the time. I claimed the festival was a fundraiser to get me to Memphis so I could find her. It was a great hook," William New, Now Magazine article.
Elvis Mondays was born. And continues to be one of Toronto's longest running weekly showcases.
