Stan Simon (lead vocals/guitar), Craig Saltz (bass/backup vocals) and Dave Osorio (drums) make up Atlas Eyes, a unique composite of each of their musical interests. With influences that range in diversity from the honesty of American Folk Music, to the eclectic sounds of Eastern Europe, to the poetic stylings of the Romantic sublime, Atlas Eyes does not adhere to the musical boundaries of genre and style, and exist instead in a musical realm all their own.Based out of a small suburb of Toronto, but spending most of their time in the city, Atlas Eyes spent the first year of their inception writing rigorously and playing any and every show that came their way.In early 2007, Atlas Eyes sought the assistance of classically-trained viola player, Jeffrey Bazett-Jones, to add to what would become an essential element of their sound. After solidifying a number of songs, the band looked to recording an EP. In his small home studio, Craig facilitated the recording of eight tracks for which the band played an integral role in mixing. The as-of-yet untitled EP is a stunning display of alternately catchy and confusing rhythms, melodic integrity, and the ambiguity of adulthood all of which combine to create a surprisingly mature-sounding first release.
