Reading, reading and reading. Maybe some tv for flavor. I listen to lots of talk radio. I also follow politics as close as I can.
I'll talk to anyone. My kids hate this about me. I've often thought what it would be like to meet someone famous. Don't you think it could ruin how you feel about someones body of work, books, movies,tv ect. if you met them and found out you didn't like them personally? I remember years ago I watched a tv show, The Pretender. I saw the lead actor interviewed on Jay Leno and realized the guy was a total moron. I mean really clueless. I wasn't able to see the show after that without thinking of my impression of him. I do admit that he must be a really good actor to pull off the character he played.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zepplin, U2 early stuff. I like all kinds of stuff though from techno to jazz. I have a tendency to wander around itunes and pick up whatever catched my ear. I've been into really old Blues lately. These old recordings have such texture it's so refreshing
the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Alexander, Fight Club, Twelve Monkies, Dawn of the Dead, Sin City, Domino, Troy to name only a few of my favorites. Recently I saw Beowolf in 3D, it was animated and a lot of fun. It doesn't really follow the epic poem all the way but was a good romp. The 3d was impressive. I also saw There Will be Blood. WOW! I soo loved this movie. You had to actually pay attention and make some connections on your own.
Battlestar Galactica!!! MI-5 on BBC, Lost. I'm still mad they canceled Journyman. Other than that I like the History channel and Frontline on PBS.
There isn't enough room for all my favorite books. The first adult book I ever fell in love with was The Good Earth by Pearl Buck. I'm aslo a big Sci-Fi fan. Right now I'm reading Upton Sinclair's Oil. His other book The Jungle is another big favorite of mine. I recently reread the epic poem Beowolf. I've been thinking of rereading Neal Stevenson's Snow Crash but my stack of never read books is pretty high. What a dilema.
My Grandpa, he was such a strong person. I strive to make him proud. I miss him.
