George Zhen

About Me

..
Multi-instrumentalist songwriter George Zhen is a contradiction. He loves music that is organic and structured. He also likes electronic loops and sequenced basslines. Reconciling these two sides of his soul has been a life long musical quest, one which may have found some sort of resolution in his upcoming release, "Dust of the American Pixel".
On "Dust", zhen blends the pianos, acoustic guitars, natural drums and djimbes he loves with the sinister electronic drum loops and synth pads that gnaw at him at night into a lush, melodic confluence of sound. Think Pink Floyd meets THE THE. In the dark, with Radiohead and the Beatles in the background. Harmonies. Trombones. Field recordings. Themes of a technological world folding before the weight of humanity. It's a project that he's wanted to make since he was 15. You can PREORDER it today at www.PixelBomb.ORG...
For his next project, George Zhen promises to return to the pleasant sounds of strummy guitars and motown beats. For now though, he is wallowing in pixel dust..."The American Pixel Part 2" by George Zhen
