NEW ALBUM!: Solomon Jabby - "Firmly Planted"
For over a decade, roots/dub artist Solomon Jabby has been studying and perfecting his craft of classic dub and roots reggae. With two full length dub albums already to his credit, Solomon has earned respect in the worldwide reggae community by updating the sounds of pioneers such as King Tubby, the Roots Radics, and Augustus Pablo. On Solomon Jabby’s third release, “Firmly Planted,†he proves that traditional roots reggae production still has a place in the modern reggae soundscape.
Solomon has been featured in BEAT magazine in both February and August 2005 editions as well as numerous reggae and dub compilations. “Firmly Planted,†his first vocal album, pays homage to the golden days of Jamaican harmony groups with clear influences from such artists as The Wailing Souls, The Congos, and The Gladiators. Deep lyrical content permeate dense vocal harmonies, perfectly complementing Solomon’s organic production. Exceptional musicianship and superb arrangements make this album a full, well rounded work.
