About Me
A Probe Called Gnomes formed in the summer of 2005 when guitarist/composer Antony DiGennaro decided to take a break from California Institute of the Arts and met multi-instrumentalist/composer Thomas Monaghan. Soon after, they completed the collective with the addition of keyboardist/organist/composer Daniel Campolieta, and Geoff Saunders long time friends and musical collaborators with Antony. Tom is a founding member of the Boston based group Frankpipe and has studied at the Hartt School of Music. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys games of atonal hammer, the international hit. He recently graduated from the jazz studies program of the New England Conservatory where he worked with such notables as Gary Chaffee, Billy Hart, Bob Moses, Frank Carlberg and Joe Maneri. An accomplished organist and pianist, Dan played in groups ranging stylistically from jazz and funk, to church music and klezmer. He is currently studying jazz and music education at the University of Connecticut with Earl MacDonald among others. In addition, Dan is able to scale very small buildings in two or three single bounds. In good time, he may be able to jump tall buildings in one. Dan performed several years ago alongside Antony in two groups, a large funk/rock ensemble known as Bone Carnage, and a straight ahead jazz quartet, the Pickle Matrix. Antony is currently finishing up his degree at CalArts. He has worked with Vinny Golia, Michael Jon Fink, Barry Schrader, Susie Allen, and Pak Djoko Walujo among others. At the moment, he is living in Ventura, California and is a member of Tinhorn Justice, an experimental metal group, and Ham on Rye, a improvised music trio as well as Gamelan Kyai Doro Dasih and sometimes the puppet theatre ensemble Sock Monkey. Geoff is a sophmore at the Eastman School of Music studying jazz and classical bass performance. The Gnomes appreciate his willingness to read and learn bizarre charts and chant awkard phrases in public. Some day a Probe Called Gnomes will return. And when that day comes, look out people of Earth. We are coming to take you away, and it won't be long. Put your zeemnobkins on the table and obey Gnome.
